Round 2, Day 2

Someone asked me if I do my workouts barefoot or in my Vibrams.  I do actually work out primarily barefooted when I am at home.  I do wear my Vibram Five Finger shoes when I work out at Allan’s but usually go without shoes at all if I’m working out at home.

Round 2, Day 1

I think it’s pretty funny that my “official” day 1 of round 2 ended up being a rest day but that is okay with me.  My body is sore and could really use the rest.  I still may do the Stretch video but I’m thinking I may just take it easy today.

Round 2, T-minus 1 day

Yes. Yes. This was supposed to be my rest day but it’s hard to turn down the opportunity to work in a group so there has been some more shuffling of the schedule.

The important thing with Cardio X is to remember to eat.  They talk about it in the video itself.  Tip of the day for Cardio X: Make sure to eat enough.  I got up early so that I could make sure to eat a full breakfast (Kashi Go Lean with a banana and almond milk) about an hour before I started.  Yep, I got up early just to eat breakfast.  In the past when I haven’t eaten enough I have gotten that tunnel effect feeling moments before completely wonking out. Luckily, I haven’t passed out but I would take Tony’s warning seriously, if you are pushing yourself hard in this workout you need to make sure there are enough calories in you for your body to use.  It’s a great start to the day and is one of my favorite videos because it has a bit of everything in it.

Round 2, T-minus days

After the day that I just had, I’ll give you one guess as to what I was in no mood to do once I got home. Yep, you’re right. I was in no mood to do my P90X Core Synergistics. So what did I do? I did my P90x Core Synergistics, OF COURSE.  To be fair I didn’t do the bonus round or the Dreya roll but I still did it.  It was just one of those days when nothing went quite right.  I left at the end of the day wondering what I actually accomplished at work.  I was exhausted when I got home and was actually pretty sore from the Turbo Fire.  I pulled out my yoga mat and set up and just did it.  I’ve realized that if I can get the workout started I actually get pumped up as I get going.  I wasn’t excited about doing the work out but will admit that I feel good having done it even though I know I’ll be even more sore tomorrow.  JOY!

Tomorrow’s Workout: Tomorrow was supposed to be a rest day but the Mis-Fits are having a morning workout.  Cardio first thing on a Friday morning has always been a great way to start a productive day before the weekend.  I’ll reshuffle my schedule to get a rest day in.

P90X made simple… sort of

P90X Overview

I found this online and thought it was well done and thought I would share it. It definitely gives some good info and I love the stick figure before and after pictures at the bottom.  I’ll be taking my “Before” pictures this weekend.  Whether or not I’ll be posting them— that’s a different storry. HAHA!

Round 2- T-minus 3 days

If you want the official P90X Lean (as opposed to Classic) Schedule you can find it here.  I’ve been working off of the lean schedule and have included my modifications for my first week.  I like to keep Fridays as a rest day so today and tomorrow are kind of a warm up to the start of Round 2.  It’s like a “soft open” for a casino.  It helps me get myself in gear. So here is my ideal schedule for this week.

Week 1ish

T-minus 3 days (Wed): Cardio X Fire 45 Class – done
T-minus 2 days (Thu): Core Synergistics
T-minus 1 day (Fri): REST
Day 1: (Sat) Core Synergistics
Day 2: (Sun) Cardio X
Day 3: (Mon) Shoulders & Arms, Ab Ripper X
Day 4: (Tues) Yoga X
Day 5: (Wed) Legs & Back, Ab Ripper X
Day 6: (Thu) Kenpo X
Day 7: (Fri) Rest Day

Today’s Workout

Day: T-minus 3 days
Program: Turbo Fire
Workout: Fire 45 Class
Time: Evening
Place: Allan/Thomas’
Buddies: Allan and Thomas

I’m already sore and my workout was only a few hours ago.  The Turbo Fire workouts are definitely best done in a good.  I struggle with the Turbo videos when I am working out on my own.  I sweat a lot, so water is very important to make it through the workout.  I definitely felt energized once the workout was done but got stiff really quickly from siting in the car on the drive home.  Next time, I think I’ll stretch some more before getting in the car.

P90X Round 2

Oh yeah…. you are seeing correctly… not only did I finish Round 1 (back in the middle of October) but I am gearing up for Round 2…. OH YEAH!  I got so many questions the last time I did it, that I thought it would be fun to track my next Round of P90X.  Just to clarify, I do some of the workouts on my own and some with the Mis-Fit Club so I don’t follow the schedule exactly but I’ll be sure to let you know what I’m up to!  Sooooo here goes! Wish me luck!
